DCL Africa (Data Commons Lab Africa) is a mission-driven initiative focused on building ethical, open, and community-centered data ecosystems across the African continent. We empower public-sector leaders, social entrepreneurs, and startups to adopt modern, AI-enabled frameworks that drive measurable, sustainable impact.
Through our flagship program, the DCL Impact Navigator Fellowship, we train emerging data professionals to apply data-driven, ethical, and inclusive practices aligned with the SDGs. We also co-create open-source toolkits and prototype solutions with local partners, helping organizations better measure and communicate their impact.

DCL Impact Navigator Fellowship
A 4-month capacity-building program for African impact professionals seeking to strengthen their data skills. Participants will gain practical experience with AI-enabled, ethical, and SDG-aligned impact reporting, working on real-world projects while receiving mentorship to drive more transparent, data-informed outcomes.
An open, domain-agnostic solution designed to help public-sector partners, social entrepreneurs, and startups measure, report, and optimize their impact data. Built around SDG principles and data ethics, the DCL Impact Navigator combines practical resources, technical prototypes, and training elements to strengthen Africa’s data ecosystems and pave the way for scalable, AI-enabled tools.

It all begins with an idea.
I grew up across Africa, inspired by the power of data to change lives; from driving public health decisions to helping social entrepreneurs measure their true impact. After working across three continents in data strategy, consulting, and social innovation, I realized a bold opportunity: Africa deserves its own open, ethical, and community-led data ecosystem.
That’s why I created Data Commons Lab Africa — to empower public-sector leaders, social entrepreneurs, and innovators with the tools and frameworks they need to build trust, drive better decisions, and achieve sustainable development.
